Bridge Farm March News

Room News

We have started a topic on spring and will be making a window display and also updating our display boards to include baby animals and spring flowers.

We will be planting some flower and vegetable seeds to grow in the garden. We will also look at Easter and hope to do an egg hunt in the garden.

Lambs Room

This month we are changing our role play area to a bakery. We will be making salt dough and playdough which will then be made into breads, pizzas and cakes.

We are changing our seasonal board to display lots of spring elements. This will be used also to display our arts and crafts for example spring flowers and pictures of lambs.

We will be incorporating Easter into the plans alongside the spring theme and making some Easter nests (and tasting hot cross buns to bring it all together).

Owls Room

Our Pirate theme will be coming to an end as we sail away to Easter Island. We are excited to be searching out for spring treasures such as tadpoles and caterpillars to see their life cycles. Maybe whilst we are on Easter island we may see signs of an Easter bunny? Or some eggs to hunt in the garden? There will of course be lots of crafts to do and cards to make and maybe some delicious recipes to sample.

We hope the children will enjoy being as involved in this next topic of lifecycles and spring.

We have been enjoying our “Goldilocks and the three bears” role play area. We have used this to look at size ordering small, medium and large. We have recently tasted lots of types of porridge just like Goldilocks. Our class favourite was porridge with jam.

We will soon be talking about spring and how things are beginning to grow in our gardens.

We have been working really hard on learning the months of the years and are so proud of the progress that all of the children are making.

Owls and Lambs Meet and Greet - Monday 14th March at 6.15

Website of the month –

It has been recently brought to our attention that some films aimed at children are classified as PG. These films may show younger children inappropriate content. “…the certificate means that any issues in the work are appropriate for the majority of this age group and nothing should upset a child of eight or over.”

Menu –

The new menus start on March 7th. Please ask in the office if you would like a copy.

Sainsbury’s active vouchers

We are now collecting for active kids 2016. By collecting these vouchers we will be able to get sports and cooking equipment for across the nursery and we’ll be able to collect vouchers up until 3rd May. Please ask as many friends and relatives to help too so we can collect as much as possible, instore you will get one voucher for every £5 you spend.

Colder weather – Please could we ask that parents provide suitable clothing for the colder weather especially a warm named coat, scarfs, hats, gloves and wellies for nursery as children will have access to the Outside area for the majority of the day and will be going out in all weathers. Waterproof jackets would be ideal however we can provide waterproofs if needed in all rooms.

Learning Journeys – Please ask your child’s key person if you would like to look at your child’s learning journey. These will also be sent home with your child’s 4month report enabling you to look through your child’s development; they will need to be signed out and can be borrowed for a short period.

Many thanks,

Jo and the team.
