Rendlesham January Newsletter

Dear Parents/ Carers,

We would like to welcome all our families back. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! The children have been very excited this week telling us about the goodies that Santa brought for them.

I would like to thank all parents and family members that attended our Toddler and Preschool “Wriggly Nativity” in December, I’m sure you will agree the children put on a fantastic performance!

This half term we will be learning about Space. We will be experiencing a wide range of activities to enhance and extend our learning.

We are currently creating a space rocket in the preschool role-play area, and will soon be ready to blast off into space! We will be looking at planets, rockets and astronauts. Preschool children will use this topic to link in with mathematics learning about numbers, shape and measurements.

Babies and toddlers will be exploring different textures, such as moon sand and space play dough.

We will also be focusing on some of our favourite space- themed stories “Whatever Next” and “Aliens love underpants” and “Aliens in Underpants save the World.”

It is our duty, as Nursery practitioners, to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the children, that attend our setting, is paramount. Therefore, can you please ensure that the doors are closed securely behind you when you enter and exit the building. Please do not hold open the door for anyone that is unfamiliar to you.

I would also like to remind all parents that the use of mobile phones and cameras in the nursery building is prohibited. Except in exceptional circumstances where permission has been gained- such as nursery performances. If you need to take an important call whilst in the building then please inform a member of staff who will be happy to watch your child whilst you take the call outside.

Car Park

Please be aware that due to the high level of rainfall in the last 24 hours part of the car park is flooded. As the evenings are now quite dark we wanted to bring it to your attention.

11th February- Chinese New Year

14th February- Valentine’s Day

Term Dates-

15th-19th February Half Term

Term time only children finish on the 12th February and return on the 22nd February. If you would like to book in extra for Holiday Club can you please contact myself or Clare by the end of January.

Kind Regards
