Rendlesham November News

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn term - we can't quite believe it's November already! We have had a fantastic time celebrating Halloween and are very excited to start our Christmas activities!

Fundraising

Children in need is always a big deal here at Rendlesham Day Nursery. We will be holding events throughout the week commencing 14th November. Please keep checking the parents notice board in the lobby for details of all activities and events. Here are two that you might need a bit of notice to prepare for:

Wednesday 16th November - To celebrate Mickey Mouse's birthday we will be having a Disney Dress up day. Please bring your child in dressed in Disney themed clothing or fancy dress. All monies raised will go to Children in Need.

Friday 18th November- The theme for this year's Children in Need is spots! So Friday will be a 'spotty' day. The children can come in wearing something spotty or children in need related for the day. Please bring with you a £1 donation to go towards the charity.

As Christmas is a time for giving, we like to teach the children about the importance of sharing and kindness and why it is important to give to others. In previous years we have taken part in the shoebox appeal, but as the Rendlesham Parish council are organising a collection we have decided to do something a bit different.
This year we are organising a collection for the Salvation Army Gift appeal.
Can we please ask that you donate a gift, these will then be passed along to Woodbridge Salvation army who will package them up and distribute them to children, families, elderly and homeless people who otherwise would not be receiving a gift at Christmas this year.

Presents should be unwrapped and the Salvation Army are unable to take used or second hand items for the Christmas Present Appeal. Please bring all gifts in by Friday 9th December.

Just a few notices:

-As the weather grows colder, please be extra cautious when using the car park as it can become very slippery. With the night's drawing in it can be difficult to see the patches of ice that may have formed.

-If you have not already, please bring in slippers for your child to wear at nursery. It helps to ensure that the nursery remains clean and comfortable.

-We go outside in all weathers so please ensure that your child is suitably clothed, for the colder weather we recommend wellies, rain coats, hats and gloves.
