Rendlesham Spring update

March Newsletter

At nursery we will be looking at the changes that Spring brings, please discuss with your children any changes they may notice as spring comes into bloom. We have lots of fun activities planned around lifecycles, growth and weather.

Baby Room

Baby Room will be looking at senses, focussing on using touch, smell and taste to explore the world around them. They will be growing their own sunflowers and herbs, creating scented bags and tasting foods from around the world.

Toddler Room

Toddlers are looking at “Under the sea” they will be looking at different sea creatures and using water role play and lots of themed art and craft to turn the room into a sea themed environment.

Preschool Room

Preschool are focussing on rhyming words, this was led by the children’s interests from our fairy tales topic. You can help at home by encouraging your child to find words that rhyme with everyday objects and to continue rhyming strings. We have also been encouraging the children to begin to write their names using various media.

We have recently updated our website with some nursery forms that may be useful to you. There are medicine forms that you can download if you know that you will be in a rush in the mornings and your child may require medicine whilst at nursery.

Please also refer to the exclusion list on the website. We understand that it can be stressful for a parent to take time off work or arrange alternative childcare when their child has been unwell. However, it is vital that exclusion periods are adhered to; this reduces the risk of illnesses being spread through the nursery, and young children, staff and parents becoming unwell.

It is essential that we are able to contact a parent or guardian whilst your child is at nursery. There have been a few occasions recently where I have been unable to contact carers to arrange collection for an unwell child. If you are going to be out of signal or unable to answer the telephone number which you provided on your registration forms then please let someone in the office know an alternate contact telephone number.

Comic Relief

We will be raising money for Comic Relief during the week commencing 20th March. On Wednesday 22nd March we will be dressing up with a “Princess and Superhero” theme. Letters will go out next week with more details.
