Room News

Our holiday display is looking great; please bring in any photos of your recent days out or holidays so we can put them on our wall display. We have been upgrading the sensory baskets with different natural objects and the children have enjoyed watering our vegetables in our garden patch. We are now starting to think about harvest, and we will be printing with some winter vegetables. We can see if any of the children know what the vegetables are. We will be changing our display boards too to incorporate harvest.

Lambs Room
Our beach role play has been a great success and the children loved playing with all the different sensory trays. We will soon be changing it into a farm shop to link in with harvest and autumn. We will also be making an emotions board so we can discuss the different emotions and how we are feeling.
Can we please have some family photos to make a photo album for each child? This not only helps with their settling in but it’s a lovely talking point for us all.

Owls Room
We are looking at shapes around us and in our community, and have been looking at all about me and our families/pets and about where we live. We’ve already made some lovely displays of the children’s work. We will be discussing parts of our bodies the colour of our hair and measuring how tall we are. The children will be able to draw a self-portrait and pictures of our family and we will be turning our role play area into a doctor’s surgery. This will then be followed by people who help us, were hoping to have visits from the police and fire service. If anyone is in a profession where you could come in and chat to the children about what you do, it would be very much appreciated.

It’s been great to welcome all the new children to the pre-school room and we are having lots of fun outside with our new connect four which was purchased from our Sainsbury’s vouchers. We’ve enjoyed creating a new garden centre role play area which the children have really enjoyed playing in. We will also be focusing on changes in our community with weather, harvest and incorporating this into our play
