Sainsbury’s active vouchers

We are now collecting for active kids 2016. By collecting these vouchers we will be able to get sports and cooking equipment for across the nursery and we’ll be able to collect vouchers up until 3rd May. Please ask as many friends and relatives to help too so we can collect as much as possible, in store you will get one voucher for every £5 you spend.

Colder weather – Please could we ask that parents provide suitable clothing for the colder weather especially a warm named coat, scarfs, hats, gloves and wellies for nursery as children will have access to the Outside area for the majority of the day and will be going out in all weathers. Waterproof jackets would be ideal however we can provide waterproofs if needed in all rooms.

Learning Journeys – Please ask your child’s key person if you would like to look at your child’s learning journey. These will also be sent home with your child’s 4month report enabling you to look through your child’s development; they will need to be signed out and can be borrowed for a short period.

Dear Parents, please can I bring the following website to your attention. http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/the-law/

Room News

Ducklings

We have recently changed our little role play area into a hairdresser’s salon; the children have enjoyed playing with the brushes and pretending to get their hair done by the staff. We have been getting involved with valentine’s craft and celebrating Chinese new year with lots of sensory activities. Don’t forget to look out for your mother’s day cards.

Lambs Room

We have really enjoyed making the crafts to go on our new nursery rhymes display board, make sure you take a look. This month we will be doing some cooking activities and making cards for Valentine’s Day. We have also been getting involved with Chinese New Year, making crafts and messy play. For Pancake Day we will be drawing our own pancakes and then having some pancake races. The children have really become interested and involved in key group time with their key person, working in smaller groups with their peers exploring a variety of activities, such as discovering the different noises musical instruments make (loud and quiet) to colour matching games.

Owls Room

We have been continuing with our pirate play theme. The room is looking fantastic with all the children’s work. We have even “dug up” some old pirate recipes to cook with the children and will be sending these delights home with them to try.

We are completing Mother’s Day cards, so don’t forget to check your child’s tray in the coming weeks.

As an early notice we wondered if anyone would like to look after Chestnut the snail over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Please speak to Sue or any of the Owls’ room staff if you are interested.

Pre-School

We have enjoyed celebrating lots of different events. We recently enjoyed creating some lovely pictures for a Chinese New Year competition. We are looking forward to Chinese food tasting and have created a Chinese restaurant for role play.

We enjoyed some yummy pancakes for breakfast and snack on Shrove Tuesday and are making valentines cards for those that we love.
